As you wish...
I am known to many as Midnight Light or just occasionally Midnight.
Psion-X is a backup name.
I read you comment on WUK and decided that I would see what I could on your LJ.
I will remain silent on any topic unless I have somehitng worthwhile to say, just as I do in WUK.
Fair enough..?

Hi!

Sorry I have been on vacation, and somewhat antisocial.
I will contribute more :)

Hi hon,

Sorry - was just hoping to make you feel a bit better - I'm Andromeda from WiccaUK. Feel free to boot me, now you know who I am!

Okay - I admit it, that PS wasn't very useful. I used the wrong icon. Here is the right icon, I think...

Hi Kitty, I've read some of your opinions in WUK and think you're pretty interesting. I think I remember you saying you were interested in Thelema? So am I. I'm currently reading Liber ABA.

I really don't know what else to say, add me if you wish. I'll probably comment on most of your journal posts as I tend to obsessively check my friends journals like an addict :P

Its annoying not to get a comment on a post, after all if you aren't getting feedback from your on-line journal you might as well stick to a pen and paper one!

[identity profile] misspotsitt.livejournal.com 2004-01-09 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
I find Liber Aba way to big to read in one go. I keep on dipping into it. Being a huge 2kg book it's not really bus rading material.

I've added you anyway.

It was great to meet you today!

Hello
I just found you via thefounder.
I'm SarahBeth
and your profile and user icons are enough to intrigue me.
May I add you?

i'd like to be added. i found you in the thyroid community. i don't post comments regularly so if that is important to you, then i might not be the best choice. ;)

[identity profile] misspotsitt.livejournal.com 2004-01-23 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not so much quantity and frequency of comments, but i went through a phase of having a load of people add me, who then didn't take any notice of me, either on my journal or on theres. I am quite protective of my journal and I don't trust people all that easily.

I'll have a squizz at yours.

I am about to add you to my friends list; please feel free to do the same. I'm a friend of kleine_hexe's and I've seen you comment on her journal pretty often. And I'm fairly protective of my privacy, though in different ways than you are. The reason why I'm curious is that you seem like an intelligently embittered person.

[identity profile] laironno.livejournal.com 2004-01-29 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And the other reason is, today, your username was subliminally echoing around in my brain today. misspotsitt, misspotsitt, misspotsitt... What does it mean? Where are the word boundaries?? How do I get those echoing hard consonants out of my head???

I removed you after you had removed me but it was because I had thought you were angry with me and Dan for being so 'soppy' so initially I thought "whatever". But really, everytime you would post in lj_uk I'd read it and even though I hardly respond to (anyone's) posts I do read and am interested.

I would like to be re-added to your list if you would allow it. =)

[identity profile] misspotsitt.livejournal.com 2004-02-06 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Ok.

I was having a weird period during then. Actually you and Dan were nowhere near as soppy as some other people, but I was a pissed off about other things, and November is a really bad time of the year for me.

Warning, more recently my journal has been almost entirely about me moaning about the fashion industry and obsessive documentation of my wardrobe work for a theatre company round here, so it's not the most interesting place, unless you're really into crochet ;)

[identity profile] rubybluenote.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hello Kat, I just found your journal via your "researcher/ gas fitter" post on Public Health. I currently earn a meagre wage as a researcher, so found it personally relevant.

I like your journal - you seem clever, British and (just occasionally) bossy, like me. So I am going to 'friend' you. I hope this is all right.

[identity profile] misspotsitt.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 07:16 am (UTC)(link)

My name is Emily...I'm an American, I don't care for Bush, I'm pro-choice all the way, anti-war, and I am in NO WAY a gun-toting redneck.

I just came across you in in the finder while looking for British people who like harry potter.

I'm just kinda looking for friends in the UK, since I am considering going to school there for a master's degree in a few years.

Anyway, may I add you to my list?

Thanks :)

Hi... thought we were having some interesting dialog yesterday and hope I didn't say anything that offended. I didn't get to read some of the later comments that may have triggered you deleting the entire thread, but anyway...

My journal is also semi-private... I talk about anything from bellydancing to target shooting. I'm an American, but I have international friends and penpals and have actually spent time on the other side of the pond (and made the effort to learn a foreign language), which I think helps give me a more global perspective.

I can't say that I will contribute a lot of comments without knowing what you post about, but you seem like an interesting person with an inquisitive mind and you're into bellydancing, too... so I figure it is a good start...

Oh yeah, we have plenty of sheep, cattle and other livestock at our agricultural fairs, too... ;)

More info on me from reading your LJ info

[identity profile] forestmaster.livejournal.com 2004-08-24 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
1. I can deal with your British spelling ;)
2. I also dislike certain aspects of American culture, but definitely try to keep an open mind about differing opinions. I may target shoot, but I am not pro-war, I'm personally pro-life, but support pro-choice (you play, you pay sort of thing, but that's a subject for a longer post someday), not a red-neck, not a Bush supporter, but I am open to other views anyway...
3. Practicing Catholic with many non-Christian friends. It's all good with accepting other views... and I don't take offense to questions about my beliefs...
4. Medicines... whatever works... I'm trying to be healthy and avoid having to take a lot of conventional medicines when I am older due to things I could have avoided with a bit of healthy living (reflection on my *parents*, not anything one way or another about your situation...I'm open to more information about alternative medicines.... haven't explored too much in that area. So far so good.
5. I don't know what Eastenders is, but I rarely watch TV in general anyway...
6. Glad to hear you are fine.
7. Sorry to hear that about your dad. Both of my parents have had skin cancer, so I make a point to stay out of the sun or wear plenty of sunscreen when I am out...
8. I have no pets, one brother, parents retired. My dad worked for Ford and my mom was a teacher and now tutors.
9. Not sure I have a best friend anymore, but probably about 1/3 of the people on my friends list are also gay. I used to role play with some of them.
10. Not sure on the cat/dog person part. I know I don't have time for either, but hope to get back to having an aquarium or two one of these days. For now, green houseplants will have to do.
11. I would say I'm overall pro-choice, too, but it's a long story [sigh].
12.I'm fairly feminist, but probably not overly so... have at least one feminist on my friends list who makes me think about equal rights issues more often than I probably would on my own. It's a good thing :)
13. Moderation in everything. I support education and civilized discussions with those with differing backgrounds and ideas :)
14. I do not run any communities.
15. I have degrees in environmental engineering and business administration (engineering management) and essentially minors in international business and German. I work as an engineer.
16. I second that and appreciate it.
17. I mention my SO but don't think I drool over him too much in my journal. (His mom's cooking on occasion, but...)
18. I talk about wishing I had more time to make things... but do occasionally make things on occasion... not as often as I would like though.
19. Not really the type for crushes that much anymore, but I have had my share...
20. Got it.
21. I worry too much about things I don't have control over.
22. I have picture links I can send, but haven't really published them to LJ. I like your eyes :) Mine are (also?) hazel/greenish.

Hello. I came across you through browsing, i think i have seen you around before. Id like to add you for a few reasons but il explain a bit to see what you think.

Ive read your bio and entries i can see. There are a few reasons why id love to add you and a couple which made me unsure so il be honest and see how it goes :-).

I think i may like your creativety, your honesty, you look nice thats a bonus heh. You seem by a little i have read to have strong character etc.

The only thing which made me hover a little was because i read cancer in your interests and see by reading your dad died of it? and youve had surgery. I read you were worried about cancer but said youve coped and over it maybe. So il be honest..i have a bad irrational fear of cancer..to the point i dont work because of it partly. Though ive been unwell with lots of other things. But if i read symptoms of cancer to much or if friends arent careful with me in comments when i think i have cancer i get realy unwell again.
I guess when i go through an episode of thinking what i have wrong with me is potential cancer, friends help by just trying to tell me many other things something could be and it doesnt have to be that!
Heh, im not just saying this because its been in your life but i dont know your personality realy and not sure if your the type of person that would be blunt and to the point about it and feel listing the symptoms would be a good approach when knowing to much info on it i will faint lol.

Usualy when friends of mine talk about cancer in their posts, i just skim past as i cant handle it. But im a very loyal reader and commenter otherwise. I hope this doesnt sound to rude or bizarre to be so honest. I guess this maybe the weirdest introduction youve had LOL.

My posts are quite down sometimes as unwell and a big worrier with health. But i also try to balance it with the more normal everyday entries and get creative once in a while. Im not sure if you mind entries that contain artful nude photos of a friend in your list so thats maybe a reason why you may not want to add me. I guess you can read my bio and see what you think.

Ive read yours, and you seem realy interesting and would like to give it a try..but of course il leave it with you to see if youd like to or not. I did think stuff it il just ask to add without all this heavy stuff lol but my fear is so bad and seeing cancer in your interests and life i guess i needed you to know that should you decide to add me back you already know i have an irrational fear of it so can then know why i may not comment if an entry is about it is all. You must be interesting enough on first impression for me to say all this and make a plonker of myself! lol Oh well im all for honesty so ive layed myself on the line heh.

[identity profile] misspotsitt.livejournal.com 2005-06-28 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry about it.

To be honest, I don't think a fear of cancer is irrational, because it is a scary thing. But you can spend too much of your life worrying about things, and that can stop you living, if that makes sense.

My father died of cancer (as have a lot of my family) and I have had cancer but survived it. It comes up occassionally, but normally in a more philosophical way. I don't talk about being ill or symptoms and they are always easily skipped. I'm sure that there are some people who skip them for totally different reasons.

We all have our little quirks though so don't worry about it :)
